Editorial Standards 

We adhere to high editorial standards to ensure our content is accessible and easy to understand. Key measures include: 

• Clear, plain language, avoiding jargon wherever possible. 

• Alt text that gives a meaningful description of informative images. Purely decorative images are marked so that screen readers skip them. 

• High-contrast colour schemes for enhanced readability. 

• A minimum font size of 16px for easy legibility. 

• A clear sans-serif font (Helvetica Now) chosen for on-screen readability. 

• Proper use of heading structures (H1, H2, H3, etc.) to visually and programmatically indicate content hierarchy. 

• Limited use of tables; when used, they are designed to be accessible. 

• Context and orientation labels, such as a sitemap, to help users navigate. 

• Tab-key navigation to support keyboard users. 

Video Content 

Where video content is included, we ensure: 

• Captions are provided for new pre-recorded video to support people who are deaf or hard of hearing. 

PDF Accessibility 

We recognise that PDF documents can present challenges for users with assistive technology. To address this, we:

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 AA standard, due to the issues listed under ‘Areas for Improvement’ below. In working towards full compliance, we: 

• Use WCAG 2.2 AA as our benchmark for design and content. 

• Follow the four WCAG principles: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust. 

• Select third-party modules and plugins with accessibility in mind, although we cannot always guarantee that third-party tools are fully accessible. 

This website was last tested on 26th January 2026 against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard. The test was carried out by Global Social Innovators. 

Testing and Monitoring

Areas for Improvement

• Some older PDF documents may not be compatible with screen readers. If you need one of these documents in another format, please contact us. 

• Live video streams do not include captions. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.4 (Captions (Live)). 

We are actively working to address these areas and welcome your feedback.
